I’m Decaying Sun. Nicklas in real life. I’m a full-time visual artist specialising in real-time VFX and audio-reactive visuals.
I work primarily in TouchDesigner, where I have built an extensive toolkit of custom components that I use across live concert visuals, pre-rendered videos and still images.

I’ve always been fascinated by analogue media. My work aims to combine the charm of older formats with the possibilities of modern technology. I find beauty in replicating its imperfections and placing what was once considered a nuisance on a pedestal.

My design philosophy centres on what emerges from the overlap of counterparts.
I bring opposing elements together and use the tension between them as a creative force. My process is playful and open, allowing each decision to influence the next rather than forcing the work towards a predetermined outcome. The final result is discovered through the process itself.
